Excerpt from testimonial of a recent homeownership client:

I began as a divorced, pregnant woman on DSS assistance with no job, living with a friend with serious health problems. I needed a place of my own before I had my baby. I moved into an apt with Section 8 help, had a healthy baby girl....and knew I wanted to get back to work and be a productive part of society again. I found a job, and was able to move to a better apartment again with assistance from Section 8.

Then I heard about the Section 8 home ownership program. I joined FSS and cleaned up my credit; after 4 years in the program my escrow was about $3,700 and Mr. Waterman, from the housing authority, said I could use that money for a down payment on a house. I found a house in Victor and purchased it. It was a lot of hard work on my part, but I am now a proud home owner.

I would like to give a very special thanks to my worker, Mr. Waterman. He was a wealth of information and very helpful in the long process of buying a home.
