Governor Cuomo Signs Legislation Extending the Statutory Authorizations of HFA, SONYMA, the MIF and HDC

I'm pleased to share the good news that today Governor Cuomo signed legislation extending the statutory authorizations of The New York State Housing Finance Agency (HFA), State of New York Mortgage Agency (SONYMA), Mortgage Insurance Fund (the “MIF”) and the New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC) until July 23, 2019.

The legislation (A.8259/S.6414) also  increases the bonding authority of HFA by $2.5 billion to a maximum aggregate of $26.780 billion.

These authorizations will enable us to continue advancing the Governor's historic housing plan to preserve, project and create affordable housing New Yorkers across the State.
