Governor Cuomo announces the launch of Round VII of the Regional Economic Development Council Initiative

On April 25th, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has announced the launch of Round VII of the Regional Economic Development Council initiative, an annual competition for more than $800 million in state economic development resources. The Consolidated Funding Application will open to applicants on Monday, May 1, 2017, enabling businesses, municipalities, not-for-profits and members of the public to begin applying, through a single application, for assistance from dozens of state programs for projects that create jobs and help to revitalize communities. NYS Homes & Community Renewal’s Office of Community Renewal will make $26.2 million in grant funds available through the 2017 Consolidated Funding Application (CFA). This includes $20 million from the NYS Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and $6.2 million from the New York Main Street (NYMS) program. NYS Homes & Community Renewal has participated in each of the six prior CFA rounds and has awarded $298 million for over 700 projects in 61 counties. To date, 500 of the projects have been successfully completed and $196 million in grant and tax credit resources have been released to awardees.
