Markham Gardens Up for AHF Reader's Choice Award

Markham Gardens in Staten Island has been named a finalist for an Affordable Housing Finance's (AHF) Readers Choice Award in the Master Planned/Mixed-Use category. This redevelopment of a former public housing development was financed in part through the Affordable Housing Corporation and the HOME program. Markham Gardens offers 240 apartments and 25 two-family for-sale homes. Each unit has a front and rear yard as well as three dedicated, off-street parking places. The development has strived to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council and is a designated Project for the "LEED for Homes" Program.
