"nyshcr" bonds are available during Retail Order Periods to provide individual investors the opportunity to purchase bonds before institutional investors.
Individual investors are given priority over institutional investors during the Retail Order Period.
Individual investors receive the same interest rate as the institutional investors seeking to buy the same bonds
An upfront brokerage fee/commission is not required, although individuals should contact their broker regarding any other transaction or account fees that may be applicable
Bonds cannot be purchased from "nyshcr" directly. You must have an account with one of the firms participating in the transaction. A list of firms participating in any given transaction can be found on the Transaction Summary page. If you do not have an account with the any of the firms listed and you would like to purchase bonds, you may set up an account with any of the firms listed. The procedures and time required to create an account are subject to the requirements of the respective firm.
