Don Lebowitz was appointed to the board of the State of New York Mortgage Agency in August 2009 by Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver.
Mr. Lebowitz has been a real estate attorney in private practice, an associate counsel to the New York State Assembly and counsel to the Assembly housing committee. He is also an owner and manager of residential rental properties in New York City. Currently, Mr. Lebowitz maintains his real estate business, continues his association with the Assembly as a consultant to the Speaker and volunteers as a coordinator at Congregation Rodeph Sholom Homeless Shelter. He was graduated from New York University in 1973 and George Washington Law School in 1977.
